This was our first day in Beijing. We started with a great breakfast at the hotel. I loved it.....such a variety of both Western and Asian food. I had oatmeal with hot milk, toast and jam, scrambled eggs with bacon. Rebecca enjoyed the mango juice. Elizabeth loved the ham and banana chips. Miriam ate the fried rice. As a friend of mine likes to say....Smakin'!

Later that day Claire got to reunite with her cousin, Xiao Mei and see her two new twin daughters. Her two daughters were so cute. Her and her husband A Yan brought our kids candy and fruit, which they really enjoyed. We later met with the extended Wu Family for lunch. It was a feast, but the kids were being hit hard with jet lag. They slept while Claire caught up with family.

From there we did a little grocery shopping. We later had pizza with Wu Wei's family at their apartment. I really enjoyed my conversation with Wu Wei. We were all tired when we finally fell into our beds. Outside of Wu Wei's apartment I caught a slice of the local color, men playing Chinese chess.
